Hamilton and Scherzinger were in a relationship for seven years until February this year when they decided to go separate ways.
“Dear friend, through the years we shared a lot, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. All the experiences made me the man I’m proud to be now,” the British Formula One driver wrote. “The memories together will never be taken away no matter how old we get and I’m thankful for the time we had. I’m wishing you the Happiest of Birthdays, and may God continue to bless you in all that you do. #waayyupstayblessed”
The former couple began their on-again, off-again relationship in 2007, and after their split, Scherzinger opened up about what helped her to get over that moment.
“For me, what’s helped me to get through this is I’m a quite spiritual person,” the former Pussycat Doll singer told People magazine back in May. “It’s grounded me, and I realize that I do have a great purpose in life. If relationships or people in your lives are meant to be, then they will come back around, but that shouldn’t be what’s holding you back.”
Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger split up several times during their relationship and it was reported that a reason for their separation was distance. The singer was “heartbroken and devastated” after the breakup.
